About

Molly Payne Pugh

Molly is passionate about estate and business planning. In her extensive work with family farms and closely-held businesses, Molly experienced first-hand the implications of poor planning. She understands these types of decisions are personal, consequential, and often, emotional. Molly actively listens to her clients and drafts a plan that will accomplish their goals, while bringing peace of mind and heart.

Molly was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia with her parents and four sisters. She attended Mary Baldwin College (now Mary Baldwin University) where she earned her Bachelor of Art majoring in English literature and Vocal Performance. After college, Molly opened her own political consulting company where she worked with federal, state, and local elected officials.

Molly served as Executive Director for Virginia Grain Producers Association, Inc. (VGPA) advocating federally and at the state level for Virginia’s grain farmers and products on issues like water quality, taxation, renewable fuels, and exports. Molly served as an expert witness for the U.S. Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on on-farm conservation practices and water quality. While working with VGPA, Molly and her husband owned and operated a 2,000-acre grain farm based in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Before law school, Molly served on the Board of Directors of several organizations working closely with conservation easements, family farms, and landowners. Today, Molly and her family are grateful and happy to be part of the Lexington community.
